Altadena, CA – SUV-Bicycle Crash on I-5/Van Nuys Blvd. Leaves Cyclist Injured

Altadena, CA (October 20, 2025) – A traffic collision involving an SUV and a bicyclist occurred on Monday, October 20, on Interstate 5 northbound near the Van Nuys Boulevard on-ramp, resulting in injuries to one man. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident happened when an SUV struck a bicycle rider sitting on the right shoulder of the on-ramp.

Emergency medical teams arrived at the scene shortly after and provided immediate aid to the cyclist before transferring him to a local hospital for further evaluation. His condition remains unknown. The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. CHP officers are investigating the events leading up to the crash. Traffic in the area was briefly affected as officials cleared the scene.
