Altadena, CA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-5 at SR-170 Leaves One Injured
Altadena, CA (May 3, 2025) – A serious three-vehicle accident occurred on the southbound lanes of I-5 at the SR-170 South Connector on Friday afternoon, leaving one person trapped and causing injuries. The crash occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on May 2, prompting an immediate response from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Authorities arrived at the scene to find a black sedan and a silver pickup truck with visible front-end damage, along with a silver Kia Telluride blocking multiple lanes, including the HOV lane. Fire crews quickly worked to free the trapped individual, though the extent of their injuries has not been confirmed. Emergency medical services provided on-site treatment before transporting the injured person to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation. Fortunately, all passengers in the Kia Telluride were reported to be unharmed. Investigators with the California Highway Patrol are working to determine the cause of the crash.
