Bakersfield, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash on I-5/the Utica Ave Offramp Leaves Injuries

Bakersfield, CA (February 18, 2025) – A hit-and-run collision involving two semi-trucks occurred early Tuesday, February 17 on northbound Interstate 5 near the Utica Avenue offramp. The crash resulted in injuries and led authorities on a search for the suspect. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 12:27 a.m. when a semi-truck with a trailer was sideswiped by another semi-truck.

The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle and left the driver injured. The suspect fled the scene, prompting law enforcement to request assistance from Coalinga units to locate the responsible party. Emergency responders arrived to provide medical aid to the injured driver, who was later transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
