Burlington, WA – Motorcyclist Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-5/George Hopper Rd

Burlington, WA (February 17, 2025) – A motorcyclist was killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 near George Hopper Road in the early hours of February 14. The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction collided with the motorcycle. The Washington State Patrol confirmed that the motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The crash caused significant delays on I-5, with authorities closing the affected lanes for several hours to conduct their investigation. Early reports suggest that impaired driving may have been a factor in the collision.
