Buttonwillow, CA (May 3, 2025) – A collision involving two minivans on the southbound lanes of I-5 near Hageman Road resulted in injuries on Friday evening, May 2. 
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 7:00 p.m. when a silver Toyota minivan and a Chrysler minivan collided. Emergency personnel quickly responded, moving the damaged vehicles to the right shoulder to reopen the blocked lanes. One individual was reportedly injured in the crash and received medical evaluation at the scene. It is unclear whether any victims were transported to a hospital. The Bakersfield division of the CHP is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the wreckage, and normal traffic flow resumed shortly thereafter.
