Capistrano, CA – Crash on I-5/Avenida De Estrella Leaves Injuries

Capistrano, CA (May 3, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck caused injuries on the southbound lanes of I-5 near Avenida De Estrella on Friday morning, May 3. The crash occurred at around 10:40 a.m. on May 2, when a silver Toyota Prius, a silver SUV, and a semi-truck collided, blocking the HOV and two additional lanes. The California Highway Patrol and Orange County Fire Authority arrived at the scene shortly after to find the involved vehicles damaged and scattered across the highway. Two individuals sustained injuries and received immediate medical attention on-site before being transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The extent of the injuries remains undisclosed. CHP officers requested multiple tow trucks and worked with the Freeway Service Patrol to shift the vehicles to the shoulder. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
