Capistrano, CA – Two-Truck Collision on I-5 at Avery Pkwy Results in Injuries

Capistrano, CA (May 3, 2025) – On the morning of May 2, a traffic collision between a white truck and a red truck on southbound I-5 near Avery Parkway led to injuries. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Responding officers arrived to find the white truck overturned on the right shoulder and the red truck blocking multiple lanes. A white van was also reported to be involved and was found lying on its side. One individual suffered injuries and was provided medical assistance at the scene. EMS later transported the injured party to a local medical facility for further care. The severity of the injuries is yet to be confirmed. Authorities called for a flatbed tow truck to remove the disabled vehicles from the scene, and emergency services worked diligently to reopen the affected lanes. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
