Cowlitz Co, WA – Crash on I-5 at MP 42 Leaves Two Injured
Cowlitz County, WA (November 23, 2024) – A serious multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck rollover crash occurred late Friday night, November 22, near the off-ramp of I-5 at milepost 42, leaving two individuals injured. The accident was reported at around 11:23 p.m., prompting a response from multiple agencies, including the Washington State Patrol and local fire departments. A 57-year-old man, who was driving the semi-truck, became trapped when the vehicle flipped onto its side. Rescue teams worked tirelessly for over two hours to extricate him using specialized equipment, including the Jaws of Life. The driver sustained a severe lower leg injury and was initially taken to a hospital in Vancouver before being transferred to a trauma center for advanced care. Another individual, the driver of a passenger truck involved in the crash, was transported to a local hospital for chest pain. Authorities have not disclosed the current conditions of the injured drivers. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
