Cowlitz Co., WA – Wrong-Way Crash on I-5/MM 54 Injures Driver
Cowlitz County, WA (November 13, 2024) – A wrong-way crash on I-5 near mile marker 54 resulted in injuries to a 23-year-old Kalama man on Wednesday afternoon, November 13. According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. when 21-year-old Dabe A. Alvarez Price of Centralia drove his 2014 BMW southbound in the northbound lanes. He sideswiped a 2012 Volkswagen driven by Aiden S. Moon. Moon sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview for treatment. Alvarez Price was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the crash. Authorities suspect impairment may have contributed to the accident, and Alvarez Price faces potential charges, including driving under the influence, felony reckless endangerment, and hit-and-run. The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
