According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred around 10:04 p.m. when a silver or gray Toyota Prius struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The impact left debris scattered across the roadway, blocking the slow lane and causing heavy traffic congestion. First responders provided medical assistance to the injured victim at the scene.
