Eugene, OR – Crash on I-5 S Near Hwy 126 Causes Major Delays
Eugene, OR (November 1, 2025) – A traffic accident on southbound Interstate 5 near the junction with eastbound Highway 126 caused major slowdowns during Thursday afternoon’s rush hour in Eugene, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
The crash occurred on October 30, shortly before 4:00 p.m., near milepost 192, affecting all southbound lanes. Emergency personnel responded to the scene to assist those involved and clear the roadway. Drivers traveling through the area were urged to slow down and move over for the safety of first responders.
A second accident was also reported on westbound Highway 126 near milepost 6.1. Delays in the area were estimated at under 20 minutes, with ODOT advising motorists to exercise patience as crews worked both scenes.
Authorities have not released details regarding the number of vehicles involved or whether any injuries occurred in either crash. Both incidents remain under investigation.
