Fallbrook, CA – Fatal Crash Claims Life of Driver on I-15 South of Stewart Canyon Rd.

Fallbrook, CA (July 19, 2023) – A tragic accident on I-15 southbound, south of Stewart Canyon Road, claimed the life of a 43-year-old male from Escondido on July 17th, at around 8:23 p.m.

The accident involved a white Toyota Tacoma driven by the victim, which collided with the center divider guardrail and overturned for reasons still under investigation. After the collision, the driver exited his vehicle, and unfortunately, he was struck by a Toyota Corolla traveling in the southbound lanes of I-15.

Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol and Fire/Paramedics, rushed to the scene. Regrettably, the driver of the Tacoma was pronounced deceased at the scene. On the other hand, the 27-year-old female driver of the Toyota Corolla from Hemet reported no injuries, but two juvenile passengers, ages 11 and 12, sustained non-life-threatening injuries due to the crash.

The accident caused significant disruption on the roadway for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation. No evidence of alcohol or drugs contributing to the collision has been reported.
