Fife, WA (June 14, 2024) – On Friday morning, June 14th, injuries were reported on  I-5 in Pierce County following a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck that resulted in one fatality. The accident involved a car colliding with a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder, subsequently struck by a semi-truck—this sequence of events led to the death of the car’s driver. The semi-truck driver was unharmed, while the driver of the disabled vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. By 6:54 a.m., traffic backups extended over three miles, with some lanes partially open but significant delays persisting. Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo confirmed the fatality and advised motorists to exercise caution in the area as the investigation continues.
