Fife, WA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on I-5 near 54th Ave. Claims Victim’s Life

Fife, WA (July 19, 2023) – A tragic hit-and-run crash took place on the morning of July 19th, on Interstate 5 in Fife, Washington, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist.

The collision occurred near 54th Avenue East in Fife and was reported shortly before 3:20 a.m.  Emergency services, including the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the Washington State Department of Transportation, and the Tacoma Fire Department, responded to the scene of the incident.

According to WSP Trooper John Dattilo, the crash involved a speeding northbound BMW that collided with the motorcycle. Tragically, the motorcyclist, identified as a 48-year-old woman from Tacoma, died as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene following the collision. Law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the incident and seeking information from witnesses or anyone with relevant details.
