Capistrano, CA – Seven-Vehicle Pileup on I-5 N/Cristianitos Injures Multiple
Capistrano, CA (May 3, 2025) – A major multi-vehicle accident involving at least seven cars occurred on the southbound I-5 just north of Cristianitos Road on Friday afternoon, resulting in several injuries. The collision was reported around 12:20 p.m. on May 2. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a gray Ford F-150 with major front-end damage, a blue Tesla, a gray Toyota Camry, a white Acura MDX, a white Kia sedan, and two other unidentified vehicles. Several of the vehicles came to a stop across multiple lanes, including the center divide and HOV lane, causing heavy traffic congestion. Emergency responders, including ambulance services and the Orange County Fire Authority, arrived swiftly to provide aid. At least two individuals were taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment, while others were treated at the scene. CHP officers remained on-site for several hours directing traffic and gathering evidence. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
