Jackson, OR – Multi-Car Crash on I-5 near MM 35 Claims One Life, Injures Two
Jackson, OR (January 5, 2024) – A fatal multi-car collision occurred on January 3rd on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 35. The incident involved a Chevrolet Suburban driven by 64-year-old Helen Marie Cain, colliding with the center wire barrier for unclear reasons. This triggered a chain reaction, involving a total of nine vehicles and resulting in extensive damage. Tragically, 81-year-old Douglas James Flood lost his life at the scene as he was not wearing a seatbelt. Cain and another driver, 38-year-old Courtney Marie Clark, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized. The ongoing investigation aims to determine the factors leading to the tragic incident.
