Josephine County, OR – Tragic Incident Claims Life of Tami Lee on I-5 in Wolf Creek
Josephine County, OR (December 12, 2023) – On the evening of Friday, December 8th, at around 5:54 p.m., the Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to a distressing incident on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 75 in Josephine County, close to Wolf Creek. The victim, identified as Tami Lee (62) from Medford, met a tragic fate when she struck an animal while driving her Kia. Subsequently, she exited her vehicle to inspect the situation and was fatally struck in the slow lane by a Freightliner commercial motor vehicle operated by Bradley Dean Guile (65) of Elmira. Regrettably, Tami Lee was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bradley Dean Guile, the driver of the semi-truck, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the OSP investigation. The incident caused a temporary disruption to the highway, impacting traffic for approximately one hour. First responders from Wolf Creek Fire, Rural Metro Fire, and the Oregon Dept. of Transportation worked alongside OSP to manage the aftermath of the incident. The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation as authorities seek to determine the exact sequence of events leading to this tragic outcome.
