Lakewood, WA – Car vs. Semi-Truck Crash on I-5 N Leaves One Injured

Lakewood, WA (April 4, 2025) – A serious car vs. semi-truck collision occurred on Friday afternoon, April 4, on northbound Interstate 5 at the Berkeley Street Exit. The crash resulted in at least one person being hospitalized with potentially serious injuries. The incident was reported around 3:16 p.m., prompting a multi-agency response that included the Washington State Patrol (WSP), medical aid crews, and fire personnel. According to WSP spokesperson John Dattilo, the accident involved a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck traveling in the same direction.

Upon arrival, responders found the passenger vehicle heavily damaged. One of the occupants required immediate medical attention and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care. Their condition is currently unknown, but the injuries were considered potentially serious at the time of transport. Investigators with the Washington State Patrol are currently reviewing dashcam footage and witness statements to determine what led to the collision.
