Lebec, CA – Big Rig Crash on I-5/Lebec Rest Area, Injuries Reported

Lebec, CA (March 16, 2025) – A major collision involving a big rig with another unidentified vehicle occurred on northbound Interstate 5 near the Lebec Rest Area early Sunday morning, March 16 leaving at least one person injured. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports of the accident around 8:26 a.m. Authorities confirmed that an 18-wheeler hit another vehicle and veered off the roadway. Despite the initial severity of the situation, the truck remained upright, which prevented further hazards on the interstate.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene shortly after, assessing injuries and securing the area. The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved has not yet been disclosed. Heavy-duty towing services from Golden Empire Towing were dispatched to assist in removing the large vehicle from the site. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
