Lebec, CA – Fatal Crash on I-5 Near Lebec Service Rd. Claims Lives of Pedestrian and Driver

Lebec, CA (June 26, 2023) – Tragedy struck on Sunday night when a single-car crash on Interstate 5 in Lebec resulted in the deaths of two individuals, a driver, and a pedestrian.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident at around 9:04 p.m. after receiving a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, just north of Lebec Service Road.

The CHP confirmed that the pedestrian, identified as a man, and the driver of a 1998 Chevrolet, an 82-year-old man from Upland, lost their lives in the crash.

It remains unknown whether intoxication or impairment played a role in this tragic accident.
