Logan Heights, CA – Chain-Reaction Crash on I-5 Involving Three Cars, Ranger Driver Hospitalized
Logan Heights, CA (July 24, 2023) – A three-car collision on southbound Interstate 5 in Logan Heights triggered a SigAlert on Monday, July 24th leading to significant injuries and traffic delays in the area.
The incident occurred around noon when the male driver of a white van rear-ended a Ford Ranger, causing the truck to collide with another car in a chain reaction. The impact caused the Ranger to flip over and catch fire, with the flames subsequently spreading to the third vehicle involved.
Prompt response from firefighters allowed the occupants of the damaged cars to escape the scene unharmed. However, the male driver of the Ranger suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
In response to the accident, the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, leading to the temporary closure of three northbound lanes on I-5 south of 28th Street. Fortunately, two of the lanes were reopened relatively quickly, easing traffic congestion.
Our hearts go out to those affected by this unfortunate accident, and we hope for a swift recovery for the injured party.
