Los Angeles, CA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-5 Near Griffith Park

Los Angeles, CA (December 22, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident on northbound I-5 near Griffith Park early Saturday morning, December 21 claimed one life and caused significant traffic delays.

The crash was reported around 7:25 a.m., prompting authorities to issue a Sigalert at around 7:45 a.m. Three northbound lanes were closed as California Highway Patrol (CHP) and cleanup crews worked to clear the scene. The lanes were reopened by 11:30 a.m. According to CHP, the motorcyclist was fatally struck and pronounced dead at the scene. While it is unclear how many vehicles were directly involved in the collision, five cars were observed stopped on the right shoulder following the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
