Los Angeles, CA – I-5 North Collision Near Washington Blvd offramp, Injuries Reported

Los Angeles, CA (September 8, 2023) – On the evening of September 8th, a traffic collision with reported injuries occurred on the northbound lanes of I-5, just south of the Washington Blvd offramp in East LA, District 7. The incident involved a red Nissan and another unidentified vehicle.

The accident occurred at around 11:51 p.m., prompting a swift response from the California Highway Patrol (CHP). CHP units arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

The situation escalated as the red sedan involved in the collision caught fire, prompting a 911 call to the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACOFD) for immediate assistance. Meanwhile, a black sedan and a red Toyota were blocking multiple lanes on the freeway.

One of the vehicles involved was facing the wrong way, and one of the involved individuals was seen exiting their vehicle and was assessed by the responding paramedics before being taken to the hospital.

At present, investigations by the authorities are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and the extent of injuries sustained.
