Marion County, OR – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Driver on I-5 NB near The Ankeny Hill Rd.

Marion County, OR (July 13, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred in Marion County, Oregon, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old woman who was struck by a driver along Interstate 5. The incident occurred on the evening of  July 13th, at around 4:40 a.m. near the Ankeny Hill Road on-ramp on the northbound lanes of I-5.

According to crash investigators, Sharon L Brock, a resident of Roseburg, was crossing from the shoulder of I-5 northbound towards the on-ramp when a driver in a Subaru Impreza, merging onto the freeway, collided with her. Tragically, Brock was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved, a 25-year-old individual from Jefferson, remained unharmed and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, as stated by state troopers.

In order to investigate the crash thoroughly, the Oregon State Police, with assistance from Jefferson Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation, closed the freeway for approximately four hours. Their joint efforts were aimed at gathering crucial information and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
