Mission Viejo, CA – Fatal Crash on I-5 S Near Junipero Serra Rd

Mission Viejo, CA (March 22, 2025) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash occurred on I-5 South near Junipero Serra Road on the morning of March 22, resulting in one confirmed fatality and multiple injuries. California Highway Patrol (CHP) and local emergency teams responded to the scene just before 9:00 AM after receiving reports of a serious collision. The crash involved a silver Toyota Camry and a white Infiniti, both of which sustained heavy damage. Medical personnel assessed the victims on-site, and one individual was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity. Investigators worked to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that one of the drivers may have been under the influence at the time of the crash. CHP continues to investigate the incident.
