Napavine, WA – One Injured in Four-Vehicle Collision on I-5 NB near Exit 68
Napavine, WA (August 21, 2023) – A four-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near U.S. Highway 12 in Napavine on Sunday, August 20th, resulting in one person being injured and transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for medical treatment.
Troopers from the Washington State Patrol responded to the scene at around 1:10 p.m. According to WSP reports, a silver 2002 Toyota was traveling in the right lane when it collided with a white car that had stopped for traffic near Exit 68. The impact caused the Toyota to crash into a white 2006 Kia Spectra, which then collided with a gray 2021 Acura RDX. The second vehicle involved in the collision left the area before troopers arrived.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as a 49-year-old woman from Hillsboro, Oregon, was found to be at fault and was issued a citation for following too closely. She sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
