Newhall, CA – Semi-Truck Crash on I-5 Near Vista Del Lago Involves Two Big Rigs

Newhall, CA (May 4, 2025) – On the afternoon of May 4, two semi-trucks were involved in a traffic collision on northbound Interstate 5 near the Vista Del Lago Road off-ramp in the Newhall area. Fortunately, non-life-threatening injuries were reported. According to California Highway Patrol logs, a red semi-truck from Knight Transportation and a big rig operated by Pannu Trans Logistics Inc.—hauling a baby blue Amazon trailer—were traveling northbound when the collision occurred. The impact reportedly damaged one of the vehicle’s side mirrors but did not cause a full lane blockage. The driver of the Pannu Trans truck initially pulled over near the Vista Del Lago exit, while the reporting party continued north, stating the other big rig was still following him. CHP units responded and directed both drivers to exit at designated points, including Gorman and Lebec Road, for further investigation. Authorities are still reviewing the incident to determine the underlying cause.
