Newhall, CA – Two-Vehicle Collision on I-5 North at San Fernando Mission Blvd Leaves Woman Injured

Newhall, CA (May 5, 2025) – A collision between two SUVs on I-5 North near the San Fernando Mission Boulevard off-ramp on May 4th left one woman injured. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a black Chevrolet Equinox and a black Mercedes SUV. The female driver of the Equinox told officers she swerved to avoid large debris in the road, including a dog crate and several plastic bins, before crashing into the Mercedes. The impact deployed the airbags in her vehicle, and she was temporarily unable to exit due to her injuries. Emergency medical responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived quickly and transported her to a nearby hospital for further treatment. At least one other person sustained minor injuries but declined transport. CHP continues to investigate the crash.
