Newhall, CA – Two-Vehicle Wreck on I-5 S at Lyons Ave. Leaves Drivers Injured

Newhall, CA (May 5, 2025) – A serious crash involving two vehicles on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Lyons Avenue in Newhall left both vehicles heavily damaged and at least one driver injured. The collision occurred in the evening hours of May 4 and involved a black Kia Sorento and a blue Toyota Camry. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), both vehicles were undrivable, prompting the need for tow services.

CHP Unit 78-502 confirmed the vehicles were disabled upon arrival and requested immediate towing support from Freeway Auto Towing. One party was evaluated on-site by paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries, while another individual may have sustained more serious trauma and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Authorities have not released the identities of the involved drivers. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
