Newhall Pass, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on SB I-5

Newhall Pass, CA (March 7, 2025) – Authorities responded to reports of Julio Cesar Silva, 55, of Hacienda Heights, a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a semi-truck on southbound Interstate 5, north of Highway 14, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner on March 6. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the fatality after finding the victim’s body lying on the freeway.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and transported the victim’s body. The identity of the truck driver has not been disclosed at this time, pending investigations. Local police are handling the investigations into the crash.
