Oceanside, CA – Crash on I-5 S at Palomar Airport Rd, Injuries

Oceanside, CA (May 5, 2025) – A serious crash involving at least two vehicles occurred on Sunday on the southbound lanes of I-5 at the Palomar Airport Road underpass, resulting in injuries. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened around midday on May 4. CHP officers and tow services arrived on the scene shortly after the crash. The injured parties received immediate medical attention, and at least one individual was transported to a nearby medical facility for evaluation. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest loss of vehicle control may have contributed. Traffic remained backed up for some time as emergency crews worked to remove the vehicles and debris from the roadway. Both lanes were later reopened after the scene was cleared.
