Oceanside, CA – Major Injury in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 at Poinsettia Ave.

Oceanside, CA (April 5, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Poinsettia Avenue in Oceanside on the afternoon of April 5th, leaving at least one person with major injuries. The crash involved a brown Honda HR-V with Baja plates and a four-door sedan. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident was initially reported as a minor injury crash but was later upgraded to major injuries upon further evaluation. Emergency medical personnel responded promptly and assessed the injured at the scene. One individual sustained significant injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of injuries to other parties involved remains unclear at this time. Tow services were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles, with the Honda HR-V sustaining visible front-end damage.   CHP officers are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
