Oceanside, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S Ends in Injuries

Oceanside, CA (March 16, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 South near Basilone resulted in injuries late Saturday night, March 15. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved multiple vehicles, including a black Chevrolet Malibu and a Volvo, which was struck twice. Initial reports indicated that one of the vehicles may have been disabled in the roadway before being hit. Emergency crews responded quickly, and at least one person was evaluated for possible injuries. Traffic was severely impacted as authorities held all lanes for a period before gradually reopening them.  Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
