Oceanside, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on NB I-5 Near SR-76

Oceanside, CA (March 5, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving two big rigs, an SUV, and another vehicle resulted in injuries on northbound I-5 near State Route 76, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash was reported at 5:33 p.m., when a big rig overturned in the middle of the freeway, colliding with an SUV and another vehicle. Reports indicated that one semi-truck jackknifed while another flipped onto its side in the carpool lane. Emergency responders, including fire crews and paramedics, arrived at the scene to assist the injured and secure the area. CHP initially issued a hard closure for multiple lanes due to debris, oil, and gas spills across the roadway. Tow services were dispatched to recover the damaged vehicles, including multiple heavy-duty tow trucks for the big rigs.  CHP confirmed their crash reconstruction team is handling the investigations..
