Orange County, CA – Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 North at Bake Pkwy, Injuries Reported
Orange County, CA (August 20, 2023) – A significant traffic collision occurred on the northbound lanes of I-5 at Bake Pkwy in Santa Ana, resulting in injuries and the blockage of several lanes.
According to police reports, a white SUV and a gray sedan were involved in a collision that left both vehicles facing sideways and obstructing the middle lanes. The crash took place on the northbound side of I-5, just south of Alicia. Emergency services, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP), responded promptly to the scene.
In an unfortunate turn of events, another collision occurred behind the initial crash, prompting further CHP response. Metro Pro was alerted and involved in managing the situation. CHP Unit C86-502 requested a tow truck, and CHP Unit C86-504 arrived to assess the scene.
Emergency responders found an injured party outside one of the vehicles, and an additional vehicle was blocking lanes as a result of the collision. The injured were rushed to the hospital for further treatment.
As of now, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
