Patterson, CA – Fatal Crash Involving Subaru and Tractor Claims One Life on I-5 Near Davis Rd.

Patterson, CA (July 26, 2023) – Tragedy struck on Tuesday afternoon, July 25th, when a fatal crash occurred on northbound I-5, just south of Davis Road near Patterson. The California Highway Patrol reported that a 26-year-old man from Arizona lost his life in the incident.

According to authorities, the crash took place shortly after 12:00 noon when a Subaru and a tractor collided. The Subaru, driven by the young man, was initially traveling southbound on I-5 but veered into the median, overturned, and then entered oncoming traffic before being struck by the tractor.

The impact was devastating, and the driver of the Subaru was pronounced deceased at the scene. The road remained closed for approximately three hours until the wreckage was cleared and the route reopened.

The tractor driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officials have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors and are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
