Portland, OR – Pedestrian Fatally Struck in I-5 Crash near Northeast Weidler St.

Portland, Oregon (July 17, 2023) – A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday night, July 16th, as a pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver on northbound I-5, according to the Portland Police Bureau. The distressing incident occurred at around 10:41 p.m. near Northeast Weidler Street when officers responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered that the pedestrian had tragically lost their life. However, the driver involved remained at the scene and is actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation, as confirmed by the police.
