Roseburg, OR – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV on I-5 at MM 123 

Roseburg, OR (June 28, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred on Interstate 5, resulting in the death of a woman who was struck by an SUV, according to the report by Oregon State Police.

The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m., when Oregon State Police received a call regarding a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian near milepost 123 on I-5, just south of Roseburg.

Upon arrival, OSP’s investigation revealed that a Land Rover Range Rover, traveling in the southbound fast lane, collided with Betty Hamm, a 54-year-old resident of Grants Pass, as she was crossing the interstate.

Regrettably, Betty Hamm was pronounced dead at the scene by OSP authorities. The driver of the Land Rover stopped after the collision and cooperated fully with the investigation.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, as stated by the troopers.
