Sacramento, CA – Collision on I-5 S at Cosumnes River Blvd Results in Injuries

Sacramento, CA (April 8, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash with reported injuries occurred late Tuesday night, April 8, on the southbound side of Interstate 5 at the Cosumnes River Boulevard off-ramp in South Sacramento. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived at the scene shortly before midnight after receiving reports of a collision causing significant disruption. Upon arrival, officers discovered damaged vehicles partially blocking the off-ramp, creating a hazard for approaching traffic.

First responders provided immediate assistance at the scene, treating the injured before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The identities of those injured have not been released, and the extent of the injuries remains under review. CHP officers remained on site to investigate the crash and oversee vehicle removal operations. Tow trucks were dispatched, and the affected lanes were eventually cleared to restore traffic flow. Investigators are currently working to determine what led to the crash.
