Sacramento, CA – Injury Hit-and-Run Crash on I-5 S/Vietnam Veterans Bridge
Sacramento, CA (March 21, 2025) – A hit-and-run collision involving multiple vehicles occurred on Interstate 5 South near the Vietnam Veterans Bridge on the morning of March 21. The crash, which took place around 9:09 AM, involved a silver Honda Civic, a silver Toyota Corolla, a black GMC Acadia, and an unidentified fourth vehicle. Witnesses reported that the unknown vehicle fled the scene after the collision, leaving the other three cars severely damaged. Two big rig trucks were also involved, blocking all lanes of traffic and causing a complete standstill on the bridge.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded quickly, diverting vehicles to a nearby rest area to clear the roadway. Emergency medical teams assessed several individuals at the scene, with some reporting complaints of pain. Fortunately, no one required immediate transport to the hospital. The CHP has launched an investigation to locate the fleeing driver and determine the cause of the crash.
