Sacramento, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-5 NB in Natomas

Sacramento, CA (December 27, 2024) – A pedestrian was tragically struck and killed early Friday morning, December 27 on I-5 northbound, just north of I-80 in the Natomas area. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at around 4:15 a.m.

A woman in her 50s was walking in the number 2 lane of the interstate when she was hit by a vehicle driven by a man in his 40s. The driver immediately exited the freeway and called 911 for assistance. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The driver, who was not injured, cooperated fully with authorities. The incident remains under investigation as police work to determine why the woman was walking on the highway.
