Sacramento, CA – Serious Collision on I-5 South at Old River Rd, Injuries Reported
Sacramento, CA (August 18, 2023) – A significant traffic collision occurred on the afternoon of August 18th along I-5 South at Old River Road. The collision reportedly involved a white sedan and a dark-colored sedan, resulting in substantial property damage and sustained injuries.
At around 3:24 p.m., local law enforcement, including California Highway Patrol (CHP), responded to the scene. The collision took place on the southbound lanes, just south of the SAFSP in District 3. Multiple parties were reportedly out of their vehicles, suggesting possible injuries.
The initial reports indicated that the driver of the white Toyota sedan exited their vehicle and entered a passing black Toyota with license plate 6MYX420. This left the white Toyota still obstructing the roadway. Additionally, there were reports of a hit-and-run incident involving the white sedan driver, who jumped into another vehicle and fled the scene.
Emergency responders, including CHP and fire units, were on-site to assess the situation and provide any necessary medical attention. However, the exact number of injuries sustained and the severity of those injuries remain unknown at this time.
