San Diego, CA – Commercial Truck Collision on I-5 Near SR-56 Causes Injuries
San Diego, CA (April 9, 2025) – An accident involving a yellow commercial truck and a white sedan occurred on the northbound lanes of I-5, just south of the SR-56 interchange in Carmel Valley on April 9th. The crash left at least one person injured and disrupted midday traffic. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports of the collision around 1:15 p.m. Witnesses said the truck and sedan collided near the middle lanes of the freeway, leaving both vehicles disabled and blocking traffic. CHP officers arrived quickly and secured the area. Medical personnel treated one injured individual at the scene and later transported them to a local hospital for further evaluation. The severity of the injuries has not been disclosed. Authorities spent over an hour investigating the scene and removing debris and the damaged vehicles. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
