San Diego, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Involving Motorcycle

San Diego, CA (January 6, 2025) – A deadly multi-vehicle crash involving four vehicles, including a motorcycle, claimed one life early Sunday morning, January 5 on Interstate 5 North, just south of Miramar Way. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. According to initial reports, the collision began when one vehicle became disabled and was struck by another on the freeway.

A motorcycle and two additional vehicles were also involved in the crash, with one car veering off into a ditch. Tragically, one individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity. CHP officers and emergency medical teams responded promptly, providing assistance to others injured in the accident. Traffic on I-15 was brought to a halt for several hours as crews cleared debris and investigated the scene. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision.
