San Diego, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Dairy Mart Rd; One Vehicle Catches Fire

San Diego, CA (February 12, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision late Tuesday night, February 12 on northbound I-5 near Dairy Mart Road resulted in at least one fatality and left another vehicle engulfed in flames, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP). CHP officers responded to the crash around 11:34 p.m. and discovered a heavily damaged blue SUV and another vehicle blocking multiple lanes of traffic.

Emergency crews arrived promptly and worked to extinguish the fire while assisting those involved in the accident. Tragically, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been disclosed. The cause of the crash is under active investigation.
