San Diego, CA – Fiery Hit-and-Run on I-5 in South Bay Leaves One Dead, One Injured
San Diego, CA (February 12, 2025) – A devastating hit-and-run crash occurred late Tuesday night, February 11 on I-5 near Dairy Mart Road in the South Bay, resulting in one fatality and another person being hospitalized. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place just after 11:30 p.m., involving multiple vehicles.
Witnesses stated that an SUV had stalled in the lanes when it was struck by oncoming traffic, causing it to catch fire. Good Samaritans rushed to the scene and managed to pull the driver from the burning vehicle, but the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Another person involved in the crash was transported to the hospital, though the severity of their injuries remains unclear.
Authorities continue to search for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. Anyone with information is urged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
