San Diego, CA – Motorcyclist Injured in I-5 Crash Near Mile of Cars Way
San Diego, CA (April 30, 2025) – A motorcyclist was injured in a traffic accident on the evening of April 29th on the southbound side of I-5 near Mile of Cars Way, just south of 24th Street in the Marina neighborhood of San Diego.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 7:01 p.m. after receiving reports of a motorcycle lying in the middle lane, creating a traffic hazard. By the time officers arrived, the motorcyclist had managed to get to the right shoulder.
While the other vehicle involved in the crash had reportedly left the scene or was unaccounted for, investigators noted signs of a possible hit-and-run. An ambulance was dispatched to the area, and emergency responders assessed the motorcyclist at the scene.
The extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed, but early reports suggest that the rider was alert and conscious following the incident.
Officers from the Merced Communication Center are handling the investigation and are seeking more information about the unidentified vehicle that may have been involved.
