San Diego, CA (April 5, 2025) – Two people were injured following a collision involving a white Toyota Corolla and a black vehicle on I-5 South near Old Town on Saturday evening, April 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, both vehicles collided on the right-hand shoulder, causing significant damage and triggering airbag deployment in at least one of the cars. The crash blocked multiple lanes, leading to a brief halt in traffic flow. First responders arrived promptly and confirmed that two individuals suffered injuries in the crash. While one victim was assessed on-site by paramedics, another was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. CHP officers coordinated traffic management and requested two tow trucks to clear the scene. Authorities later confirmed the roadway was fully reopened by 9:30 p.m., though traffic delays lingered into the night. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash.
