San Juan Capistrano, CA – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Junipero Serra Rd

San Juan Capistrano, CA (March 24, 2025) – A two-car crash on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Junipero Serra Road on Saturday morning, March 24, tragically led to one fatality. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident occurred around 8:49 a.m. A white and silver sedan collided with enough force to deploy the airbags in both vehicles. Witnesses at the scene stated that the driver of the white sedan appeared to be impaired and had been driving recklessly before the crash. Emergency personnel quickly responded and transported the injured driver to Mission Regional Hospital for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, the individual later succumbed to their injuries. CHP officials are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
