San Juan Capistrano, CA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Camino Capistrano Causes Injuries 

San Juan Capistrano, CA (April 29, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision involving three cars occurred late Tuesday morning on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, just south of Camino Capistrano. The crash, which occurred around 10:50 a.m., included a black Toyota Highlander that reportedly struck roadway debris, leading to a chain reaction involving two other vehicles.

According to reports from the California Highway Patrol and onsite Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), the accident pushed all vehicles to the right shoulder. One vehicle’s mirror was broken by flying debris, and one person involved in the crash was injured. Emergency responders from CHP and assisting units arrived quickly to assist the victims and begin clearing the roadway. CHP has launched an investigation to determine how the debris entered the roadway and whether any other contributing factors played a role in the collision.
